Executive Chef George Martini
Hello, my name is George Martini. By way of introduction, I am a retired chef, and I am launching my blog called cookingforthetasteofit.com.
My passion continues to be the flavorful and innovative preparation and presentation of food. In my blog post, I hope to share my enthusiasm with my readers. I will discuss tips that I learned on food-related topics, such as food shopping, maintaining a pantry, safe storage of food, preparing and serving food and basic and formal table settings.
My interest in cooking began when I was a child watching my mother in the kitchen and helping her with cooking and baking. While working as a young adult at a local restaurant I was told that I had a talent for the kitchen, and I was advised to go to culinary school for formal training. I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1981, where I gained invaluable knowledge and training in the culinary arts and refined my cooking skills.
The day I retired! Look how happy I am.

I have since working in food service for 36 years, cooking in casual and fine dining restaurants, catering formal dinners, and managing banquets in college and university environments. In my last position, I was part of the management team in the food facilities of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife (and best friend) Anne. I am a born-again Christian and active in my church and its ministries. My interests include fishing, reading the Bible and other uplifting books, and digital photography.
My Wife and I at the Beach
I will be adding a recipe page in the future. In the meantime enjoy the picture of these beef kabobs. My wife gave me an A+ on them. Being retired we like to go to the lake and grill our dinners.
